Early Detection of COVID-19 Through AI
Temperature sensing to help Canadians in returning to work.
Project Overview
Updated March 31, 2023.
The Problem
As Canada and the world move to reduce the spread of COVID-19, temperature screening is increasingly used to detect potentially sick individuals.
However, hand-held temperature checkpoints can create bottlenecks and hurdles.
Being able to scan large numbers of people entering hospitals, stores, restaurants, airports and train stations will be critical to protecting the health of Canadians and bending the curve of subsequent waves.
How We Are Solving It
The Result
This project focused on early detection and mitigation of potential infections of COVID-19 as critical to flattening the curve and minimizing future waves of pandemic outbreaks. The project provided the ability to screen large numbers of people in venues such as arenas, stadiums, hospitals, stores, and airports for elevated temperatures, social distancing violations, and face covering compliance to protect the health and safety of Canadians. Patriot One has successfully integrated new health and safety features into its existing PATSCAN video recognition system.
