Montreal, QC and Vancouver, BC: July 15, 2026 – MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL have announced a new strategic partnership to accelerate the development, funding, and commercialization of innovative projects in the Medtech and AgeTech sectors across Canada.
Based on a shared vision and a pan-Canadian mission, this collaboration leverages the complementary expertise of both organizations to better support companies, researchers, and ecosystem partners in advancing high-potential projects.
Through this agreement, MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL will work together to co-fund projects, mobilize their ecosystems, and strengthen connections among key innovation stakeholders across Canada. By combining MEDTEQ+’s expertise in health technology innovation and commercialization with DIGITAL’s leadership in advancing Canada’s digital and artificial intelligence innovation ecosystem, the partnership will better support innovators in accelerating the development, adoption, and scaling of high-potential solutions.
“This partnership aims to provide innovators with clearer pathways to transform promising ideas into concrete actions that have a real impact. MEDTEQ+ brings in-depth expertise in healthcare innovation and value creation. DIGITAL complements this expertise with its national reach and recognized know-how in intellectual property for collaborative innovation and commercialization projects. This synergy enables us to better support Canadian companies developing solutions that address the challenges of health and social care services, an aging population, and the needs of communities and organizations. Nationwide digital transformation is a powerful driver for accelerating the deployment of these solutions.” mentioned Annie-Kim Gilbert, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of MEDTEQ+.
“Innovation doesn’t scale without collaboration,” said Elysa Darling, Chief Operating Officer, DIGITAL. “MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL bring complementary strengths that help Canadian innovators move faster. By bringing MEDTEQ+’s health innovation expertise together with DIGITAL’s collaborative model, we’re connecting companies to the partners, buyers and pathways they need to scale Canadian-made solutions and deliver stronger outcomes for Canada.”
By combining their networks and capabilities, MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL will demonstrate the strength of collaboration across Canadian organizations and the value of investing in projects with the potential to transform the economy.
The partnership specifically aims to:
· promote co-funding of projects in digital health, medtech, and AgeTech;
· mobilize the ecosystem around shared opportunities across Canada;
· provide better support to companies and organizations leading projects;
· facilitate access to end-users, including patients, older adults, healthcare facilities, and living environments;
· expand access to the networks, partners, and expertise of MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL.
“The Canadian health innovation ecosystem benefits when organizations like MEDTEQ+ and DIGITAL align their strengths,” said Chenny Xia, Chief Executive Officer of GotCare. “For companies like GotCare, that coordinated support helps de-risk innovation, strengthen commercialization pathways, and accelerate the journey from development to real-world impact. As we work to improve access to in-home and virtual care in rural communities, this partnership demonstrates the kind of collaboration Canadian innovators need to scale and succeed.”
This new alliance will create more opportunities for collaboration between companies, research centres, healthcare institutions, and innovative organizations, while accelerating the market launch of concrete solutions to address the challenges of an aging population and drive the transformation of the care and service sectors.
