The Digital Supercluster is building a more resilient and stronger Canada for everyone—one that leverages the benefits of diversity and ensures under-represented groups have access to opportunities that will lead to a better quality of life. Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are core values of the Digital Supercluster. We are stronger when we understand, listen and embrace the power of different perspectives, experiences and knowledge. We are committed to this.
The Digital Supercluster supports the Government of Canada’s 50-30 Challenge. To date, more than half of the 6,500 work placements developing through Digital Supercluster projects are focused on under-represented groups, including women, LGBTQ2S+, new immigrants, Black, Indigenous and other racialized Canadians.
“Coastal First Nations hold the keys to transforming B.C.’s future. As communities along the central, north coast and Haida Gwaii get connected through high-speed internet and gain access to today’s global economy, there is a wealth of cultural wisdom, prosperity and world-renowned stewardship leadership to be shared. The Digital Supercluster Coastal First Nations Connectivity Network project will bridge the digital divide in our remote communities by supporting long-term careers and opportunities in technology to create Indigenous-driven connectivity services and innovative solutions.”
